Whilst some people may  find the commonly associated muktasana or lotus position comfortable, for the majority of people however, it would feel uncomfortable and awkward.  If this is you, you can sit on a chair or even lie on a bed.  The most important thing is to get yourself in the most comfortable position for you, after all we are all different.  You might find you need the warmth of a cozy blanket as it is common for your body temperature to drop during deep relaxation.
